Swimming in Winter!

So the kids have started their two weeks of school swimming....In winter! Not that my kids mind they love the water.... Swimming at the pools, the beach, the bath or shower!

They must get the love of water from their father because I am no swimmer, or lover of pools....But the beach is another story...It's not the pools!!!

The fresh air the sand between your toes, in your clothes and usually in places of discomfort.... You know what I mean hehehe
The super tanned and toned bodies...Everything my body is not but it's good watching, the melting ice-cream your desperately quickly trying to eat and mostly running down your hands but mostly and more importantly...sun,sun,sun!!! Love, love, love the sun, sun, sun!!!

Everyday for the last week I have been going to the pools to watch...and help change, rinse, make sure the dry clothes are in their bags staying dry, watching their teachers teach them five children at a time rotate them so every child gets their turn, call them out of the pools, rinse them off again, dry, dress put hair up and have them lined up ready for the bus trip back to school...All in an hour!!!

Bring on Summer, the beach, the ice-cream, the unlimited time but mostly and more importantly...The sun, sun, sun!!!

What...no rain??

Getting ready for another terribly cold rainy no sun day. Tribe all bundled up in their winter woolies, sniffly noses and lack of enthusiasm getting ready for school.

A New Zealand winter is like no other Believe you me! It's a different kind of cold...Like being in a freezer for a few months!!

Waddling to the car with a few extra pounds of clothing on the Tribe following me like I'm mother duck hurrying into the van to get the best seats near the heater which is on full and doodling all over the fogged up windows....Tribe ready for school!

After doing the school/husband drop off and heading home with precious thoughts of jumping into my toasty warm bed with a hot cup of milo, bikkies and a girlie dvd... low and behold the brightest of lights and a lovely warm familiar presense envelopes me and 'here comes the sun dadadaaaada here comes the sun...and I say it's alright!'

Well...There goes my toasty warm bed with hot cup of milo, bikkies and girlie dvd.....Helloooo two loads of washing!!! :-p

Boy or Girl???

Well had my 5 month scan. Kids all excited about the outcome so they can come up with names. The girls hoping for a girl the boys hoping for a boy!

Had to leave home at 7:30am to beat traffic into town...Not that it made any difference whatsoever! The weather was terrible! Pouring down with rain gail force winds and everybody crawling into town at probably 5kms an hour!

So didn't get into town till 9am missed my 8:30am appointment and wouldn't be able to get another appointment till later that afternoon....yaaaaaah! not!

Long, long trek back home in the rain back home by 10am.....Straight back to bed! mmmmmm toasty warm, snuggly, comfy bed!

Not that it lasted long with Jada ready for another change, feed and entertainment!

13:00 At the centre early...Sooooo not missing this appoinment! Seth and I ready to go in...Jada not so much! After a snack, drink and play the little princess all ready to participate in the new baby's scan!

Twenty minutes later after much scanning and explaining of what it is they actually look for, measure and make sure everything is in it's right place. New baby isn't as co-operative! Lying in the feotal position feet tucked up right round the butt...Definately a shy one!

So a long, long wait till October to find out what were having. A boy or girl? According to the rest of the tribe it's a...... Little munki!!!

A week of displeasure!

A whole week of not one but 6 sick children and one husband! I suppose I should be glad it hit our household all at once and in a week instead of 7 times in 7 weeks....That I could definately live without!!!

I must say it was quite traumatic for the younger members of the tribe. All the unexpected explosions of vomit and pooh and their small fragile bodies all limp and tired from all the work of excreting what was left inside them.

I am glad however to have gone through it with them. They are my tribe and just seeing how fragile, innocent and sooooo dependant on you for everything they are makes me feel very much needed, wanted and loved!!

I love, love, love my tribe and am grateful to be able to share in every single moment with them....Poop and all!!!
